The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh.
Location of this cabin filter: Passenger side behind the glove box. Tools: Phillips-head screwdriver.
When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model. Please see the owner’s manual or find a local mechanic for exact instructions for the particular model):
- Open the passenger door. While leaning into the vehicle, remove the 3 screws that secure the bottom of the glove box to the vehicle.
- Open the glove box and remove the 3 screws that secure the top of the glove box the vehicle.
- Use your screwdriver as a handle. Position screwdriver in the top right side slot of the glove box, pull down on the glove box to remove it.
- Unclip the fuse connector from the back of the glove box and set glove box unit aside.
- Now with the filter housing unit visible, remove the housing cover by pulling down and out on the two tabs on the bottom edge.
- Remove the old filter from the housing.
- Insert your new filter into the housing.
- Install remove parts by reversing the removal procedure, and it’s done.
