The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh.
Location of this cabin filter: Passenger side in front of the windshield under the cowl grille. Tools: Standard Screwdriver.
When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model. Please see the owner’s manual or find a local mechanic for exact instructions for the particular model):
- Sit in driver side seat, insert the key in the ignition and turn on the car.
- Turn on windshield wipers, then turn off the ignition and turn on the car.
- Turn on windshield wipers, then turn off the ignition while the wipers are in the upright position.
- Open the hood and go outside to the passenger side windshield and in front of the bottom side of the windshield you will see 4 screw caps at the top of the cowling. Using the screwdriver gently pry off the screw caps. Once the caps are removed, use the screwdriver to remove the 4 screws.
- Now you will see 3 screw clips. Remove these clips by pressing up on the bottom of the clips while using the screwdriver to unscrew the top of the clip. Once the screw is removed, press up on the clips to remove them.
- Remove the passenger side cowling by pulling up.
- Remove the filter housing cover by pulling it out.
- Remove your old filter out from the housing and insert your new cabin air filter into housing.
- Install remove parts by reversing the removal procedure and it’s done.
